Rig checks before the seasonEN

A methodical pre-season rig inspection helps identify wear before the yacht returns to regular sailing.

Rig checks before the season

Begin the season with a slow inspection from deck level before looking higher. Check terminals, split pins, wire, fittings and areas where movement or corrosion may be visible.

Running rigging should move freely and show no serious chafe. Blocks, sheaves and attachment points deserve the same attention as the standing rig.

Record anything uncertain and seek qualified advice where necessary. A consistent checklist makes comparison easier from one season to the next.
