Twin engines give a motor yacht useful control at low speed, but they do not remove the need for a clear plan. Wind, current, propeller response and available space should be assessed before lines are released.
Small, deliberate engine inputs are easier to evaluate than continuous corrections. Pause between movements and watch how the vessel responds around its pivot point.
The crew should know the sequence, the intended berth and when to report distances. Calm communication and an agreed abort point keep the manoeuvre controlled.
